Street Reps come to the rescue
A member of the public contacted the Street Reps to say that they had a water leak and a water bill of £8,500. We investigated and consulted with S.W.Water and eventually found that the water meter, after tests, was faulty. The bill has now
been quashed and the meter replaced. Another success for Ilfracombe Street Reps!!
Police are now targeting antisocial drivers with persistent offenders having their cars confiscated and crushed. They are patrolling car parks and roads, where there have been complaints, and it seems to be starting to work, with fewer complaints being made.

All About Street Reps
Q: Who are we?
A: We are volunteers who represent the street we live in
Q: What do we do?
A: We report environmental issues in our street. It could be litter, dumped rubbish, weed growth, faulty street lights, dog poo, graffiti or anything else we notice.
Q: Who do we report to?
A: The relevant department responsible for the problem. This could be the Highways Department, Environmental Health, Greensweep, the Town & Local Councils, District or County Councils, South West Water - in fact anyone who might be able to help solve the problem.
Q: Why do we do it?
A: We do it because we care. We want to improve the place we live in & to make the local area a cleaner, safer & greener environment for everyone.
